SPECIFICATIONS:
Size: 20 ¾" (52.7cm) deep X 18 ¾" (47.6cm) tall X 14 ½" (36.83cm) wide.
Weight: 24.3 lbs (11 kg).
Scan Speed: With a powerful computer and an HDR setting of three, 40 seconds @ medium resolution (6mp mode), and 65 second @ high-resolution (10mp mode). Add 10 seconds per pass in HDR 5 + 10-15 seconds for processing each additional pass.
HDR Modes: "High Dynamic Range" mode is where the scanner takes several scans of the image at different exposure/brightness levels and then averages all of the passes together to further enhance the image's dynamic range (latitude) beyond the range of the scanning camera alone. Software currently allows HDR modes of 2 thru 5 - meaning the system will take 2 to 5 passes and then averages those together into a single image with wider dynamic range of the grayscale. These extra passes, as well as the time to process and average the passes adds additional processing time to the scan.
Resolution & Grayscale Depth: Medium mode is a 6 mega pixel (mp) producing an image which is 2112 x 2816 (150dpi) from a full 14"x17" film. High mode is 10mp and produces an image which is 2736 x 3648 (195dpi) from a full 14"x17" film. Higher resolutions can be obtained by zooming into a smaller area of a film. Grayscale depth in standard mode is 8bit (256 levels of gray). In HDR mode this jumps up to 12Bit (4096 levels of gray).
File Sizes (typical): Medium produces a jpg which is approx 1.5mb in size. High produces a jpg which is approx. 4.0megs in size.
